Exploring ELYU

When you simply feel the urge to get away just for a quick weekend breather, La Union or more famously known as Elyu is the escape you need away from the city's hustle and bustle. La Union brings to the table the perfect mix of leisure, adventure, great eats, and cheap thrills. It is known as the "Surfing Capital of the Northern Philippines."

Just me, my surfboard and my proud instructor (haha). Not bad for a first timer.

My team and I have been planning for this trip a month ago. Okay, enough jibber jabber. Attached herewith are our itineraries for the two-day trip in La Union.

As soon as we reached Elyu, we went directly to San Gabriel, where we could see the famous Tangadan Falls. Since the weather was quite not good when we arrived, we chose "top load" to a jeepney (which costed us P1500) over a 2-hour trekking to Tangadan Falls. (We're not into trekking, anyway)

After a 30-minute ride at the top of a jeepney and a 15-minute walk, we finally reached the beautiful Tangadan Falls.

Thrill-seekers and nature lovers will love the trail to the falls that's surrounded with lush greens. You can even take a refreshing deep with its natural pool.

Tangadan Falls San Gabriel, La Union Fees: - P30 entrance/environmental fee

P50 life jacket (optional) P600 tour guide fee

P1500 jeepney fee

We have had our lunch at "Bucket Ba?" then checked-in into Villa Angelo. After a 2-hour rest, we went to Urbiztondo Beach and surf, which costed us Php 500 per pax for 1 hour. Though very limited time and quite pricey but it's super worth it. A must try!

We ended up our first day in Elyu eating at Dampa.

On our second day, we ate our breakfast at the famous El Union Coffee. Since it's very popular, we haven't had a chance to ate there our breaky as there were a lot of people; no vacant seats and the place was too small. So, we just took out the coffee and brought it to Tagpuan, where we ordered super yummy "silogs".

After breakfast, we went back to Villa Angelo to pack up, took a bath and prepared as we have so much places to visit on our second slash last day in La Union.

We visited Man-made Forest, Baluarte Watch Tower and Pinandangan Ruins. Here are the photos.

That's all for our ELYU trip!

One Love! ♡
